April 6th issue - page 6

It is nearly half a page and carries a photo of Troy holding the winning banner with the winner Paul Harberts, his girlfriend and Ken Wooton - the editor of AMCN.

Paul Harberts of Bulleen, Victoria couldn't believe his luck when he heard his name called over the public address system at the recent Phillip Island WSC round. Harberts, along with girlfriend Lucy, had hastily re-jigged and updated their 1996 Troy Corser banner and rushed it down to the Island to enter the Motorcycle News competition fora Troy Corser replica Suomy helmet.

Their winning banner wa spotted by AMCN's esteemed Ed as he circulated the track in Sunday's openeing event for the Harley Davidson Twin Sports, his main objective being to chose the winning banner (well that's his excuse for the slow lap times, and he's sticking to it!).

For their artisitic efforts Paul and Lucy were supplied with two pit access passes and the opportunity to meet the 1996 world champ, along with the autographed Suomy helmet.

"I couldn't believe it when I heard my name over the PA," said Harberts, "I'd done the banner for the comp AMCN ran in 1996, but didn't hear anything further. Getting Troy to sign it this time around has certainly made up for it - and I got to ride in the AMCN Volvo as well! My mates won't believe it......"
