CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE YAMAHA: THE GIANPAOLO EXPERIENCE |

Everything starts looking at the GolfAcademy.it Forum, in which I work for the charity. I read about the opportunity given by Yamaha Racing: challenge the WSB champions. I decide not lo lose this possibility and I send the e-mail with my challenge. Some days later, an e-mail inform me that I am one of the 8 lucky winners...wowwww, I immediately envolve my life-mate Jo and I start thinking about doing a sorprise to my nephew Matteo, a big fan of Yamaha. I am also a Yamaha customer: I have a wonderful X Max 250 :-). So I phone to Matteo and I tell him that I need him like a caddy. He accepts and comes with us. We arrive at about 3:00 p.m. in Misano. After having entered the Yamaha paddock, he understands that it will be a really special golf play. We (me, Jo, and especially Matteo) are all surprised about the efficiency of the Yamaha Team: we are coddled and for the first time in my life I find myself in the middle of photographic releases and tv broadcasts. I have never thought about being a protagonist...I am 50 years old! :-) Yamaha champions are all available and funny, the green in the paddock and their golf shots are amazing :-) Then we finally arrive in my own field: the Vallugola Golf Club, a breathtaking scenery, and a warm welcome. There were about 40 degres and a 4000% humidity rate, but very good ice-cold drinks, wedded to Yamaha kindness, have made the arrival really cool. :-) Then the golf challenge starts and I discover with great delight that I will play with Troy Corser: my nephew Matteo is so excited and he sets himself up like caddy.After some shots I realize that it's not a so easy path, only a "birdie" and some other shots make me relaxed. For the rest, it is really an EVENT, Troy is a really good player; I have given some golf advices to him, that he has really appreciated. I have also given to him a present: the golf ball of the mythic Vaccarana Fun Club: it's the charity competition that I yearly organize with some friends of mine. I am sure this present will bring a lot of luck to him. The end of the event has been beautiful: rich buffet, good music, coddled by the Yamaha organizers, the absolut availability of the racers and exclusive gadgets: a beautiful Yamaha peach-mark, an object that will always be in my golf bag. Then a noble action that we will always remember, me, Jo, and expecially Matteo: Troy Corser gives to Matteo his hat, the white one that we has worn all the day and with which he appears in the photos. It is also signed, with a dedication to Matteo. He says hello to us and he thanks us for the wonderful time spent together, and taking the golf ball of the Vaccarana Fun Club he lets me know that he's a really polite man. Thanks to you, Mr. Troy Corser. Thank to Yamaha, to all its managers who have had this great idea! :-) At last, let me thank Miss Roberta, always present and available." GIANPAOLO FATTORI |
