Troy Corser News
9th October 2006

Finally, Troy can reveal that he will be a Yamaha rider in 2007! He has agreed terms with Yamaha Motor Italia and will partner Noriyuki Haga on the all-new Yamaha R1 in next year's Superbike World Championship. Troy has won the Superbike World Championship twice and is looking to take his third title next year and if he does so, it will be on three different bikes! Troy was the first rider to win the world title last year on a 1000 cc four cylinder bike and next season he aims to give Yamaha its first ever Superbike World title.

TROY I am extremely happy to get the chance to work with Yamaha, because the team has a lot of experience and they are a very professional outfit. Nori and I get on very well and I think we'll be strong in both the development and set-up of the new bike. I'm looking forward to getting my leg over the bike for the first time and then taking the world title with it next year. Obviously negotiations have been a bit of a secret, but now that things are out in the open I'd like to thank my friend Luigi Pasiani for all his help in the discussions. Luigi is the boss of the company that runs my website, so check it out for the latest news on my new challenge and my first tests with Yamaha. See ya. Troy

The first appearance of Troy Corser with the Yamaha Motor Italia squad is scheduled to take place in Mugello on 25th October. Further details to follow.
