Troy Corser News
16th October 2005

The 2005 Superbike World Championship season may have finished and the title safely in the bag, but it didn’t stop Troy racing the weekend after the last race. This time though, Troy swapped his GSX-R1000 Alstare Suzuki for a four-stroke Suzuki dirt bike and took part in the prestigious Starbikers Race at Mettet in Belgium. Troy was up against the cream of Supermotard and off-road riders, but still managed to finish fourth in the Starbikers Race.

Over 30,000 spectators enjoyed an action-packed day of racing and the whole event was on live television in Belgium for the best part of four hours.
Afterwards Troy said,” I only got to see my bike a day or so before the event, so we didn’t really have much time to get it dialled in. But, the atmosphere at the event was fantastic and it was great fun to be part of it. There were heaps of good riders taking part including my fellow countryman Broc (Parkes) from World Supersport, McWilliams (ex-MotoGP) and American dirt-tracker Chris Carr. I’d like to do it again next year - after a bit more preparation - and challenge the leaders.”
