Today, 9th December, at the Aprilia stand in the Bologna Motorshow, Mr. Ivano Beggio, President of Aprilia, and Mr. Troy Corser made an official announcement regarding their future collaboration in the World Superbike Championship.

For Mr Beggio and Aprilia the RSV Mille is an integral part of the company's future strategy. They recognise that success in SBK World Superbike can have a direct reflection in the motorcycle market, and after one year's experience in SBK they realise the need for a top rider of the calibre of  Troy Corser.

Troy admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by the bike, in particular the strength of the engine. With only limited testing time in very poor weather conditions Troy has already suggested some small improvements for the RSV Mille.

With further testing planned in the New Year he is looking forward to making many more laps to adjust to the bike and tyres. With some modifications to the chassis, to suit Troy's personal preference and style, he believes that the bike can be a race winner. Troy's personal aim for the year 2000 is for a top-5 finish in his first year on the bike.
