| Supertech R key feature: • Aerodynamic External Construction and Protection Supertech R boot is CE certified for maximum safety, and has been designed for aerodynamic efficiency. Constructed with hi-tech micro-fiber, designed to meet light weight and performance requirements in top level racing. Supremely protective, flexible and comfortable design, offering excellent aerodynamic performance, fit and feel with the bike and specifically positioned ventilation to aid airflow through the boot. • Profiled external heel protection The heel counter is profiled and vented to provide excellent protection and comfort. Replaceable PU heel plate slider and integrated side insert give highly effective impact protection and reduce friction in the event of a fall. • Unique Alpinestars Supertech R Internal Ankle Brace Separate internal ankle bio-mechanical brace works with the outer structure of the boot to form a protective system allowing full and free movement of the foot, ankle and leg. New research has produced a re-profiled double hinged inner and outer torsion bars to give greater impact protection of the ankle and progressively absorb flex and rotation stress, reducing pressure and hyper-extension injury to the lower leg joints • Better closure system and fit New opening/closure system, featuring side opening/exit zip with stretch bellows panel edge to ensure close fit and ease of access and removal. Security and adjustability is further improved with internal Velcro® which ensures a tight, non-slip, connection between surfaces. Micro adjustable ratchet top closure for added precision and security around the calf. • Optimum comfort and grip Gel and ergonomically designed closed cell padding surrounds all sensitive areas of the foot and ankle. Front flex area is constructed with a soft TPU mesh to allow flexibility and abrasion resistance. Top gaiter is constructed with high-grade synthetic which is soft, flexible and follows the contour of the leg. • Toe shifter feel and replaceable Toe-slider Special, lightweight, toe shifter gives feel and protection for changing gear and preventing pinching over the toes. Exchangeable, clip-on, toe-slider gives good feel and protects the outer toe box structure from abrasion. (Upgradeable with a magnesium slider) • Innovative Sole Technology Technical lightweight sole features a specific rubber compound which gives excellent grip and feel, while allowing natural flex, as the rider changes position and pressure on the foot-peg |

| 2007/2008 - The boots used by Troy in 2007 are the the Alpinestars Supertech model and have particular characteristics. Technical lightweight sole provides improved grip and feel at the controls for optimum riding performance.
Innovative internal structure guards the shin, heel, ankles, toes and outside foot: it has two torsion bars which increase resistance and prevent hyperextensions.
A new opening/closure system, featuring an inner side zip, makes the boots extremely easy to put on and take off and gives superior flexibility.
Aluminium slider on the outside of the heel provide great impact absorption and limit friction in a fall.

The boots are made from Pieno Fiore cowhide, with the inside perforated in order to allow the foot to breathe more easily. In order to offer better protection to the malleolus and foot, a preformed carbon plate is used with a special gel inside. This perfectly follows the form of the foot, but immediately returns to its natural state when the boots are removed. The toes of the boots and the part covering the foot is made from Kevlar. This guarantees greater security and resistance, since this area suffers from abrasions and stresses from the gear lever. Instead of normal sliders, carbon reinforced sliders (with a thin titanium plate) are used to cope with the massive amount of friction when leant over. |
