I was so happy I was able to be at the birth of our son; it was possible that he would arrive during the Misano race weekend, but he was patient and waited until I returned to Monaco on Monday. Being in at the birth was amazing and it's impossible to describe the emotions - you just have to be there.
I was in the delivery all the time and when Kalani was born, I got to cut the umbilical cord myself! It was a problem-free birth and Sam was only in the delivery room for four hours altogether. She did really well and everything went absolutely perfectly. Sam will stay in hospital for a few days - which is what they like to do here - and have a rest and get looked after.
I registered his birth in Monaco today (Thursday), so everything that had to be done, is done. Now I'm looking forward to having Sam and Kalani home and our new life as a threesome.
