The Bali Bombing - An awful day all round
Its been one month since the disasterous bombing in Bali where so many lives were lost, and so many of those Australian lives that I felt I couldn't be at ease until I had offered my most heartfel condolences to those who lost family, friends and loved ones.
For me the tragedy has really hit home, not only because of the number of lives lost and the number of Australians involved, but also because my sister and her family were in that exact place just one week earlier.
My sister Deeann, her husband Colin and their beautiful daughter Madeline had enjoyed a wonderful holiday there for three weeks and returned one week prior to the bombing. For them it has really been quite distressing. The television coverage they are seeing shows the places they just visited, the people they had just met and befriended. I know how life would have never been the same again had they been involved in the tragedy and therefore we feel we can relate to those suffering.
So I would just like everyone to pause for a few moments in rememberance of those who innocently lost their lives. |
