We have been watching the news very carefully, waiting for news about the McRae helicopter crash. At this stage it has not been announced who any of the 4 (?) passengers are, however it is believed that Colin is one of them. Either way, as it is McRae's personal helicopter it can be certain that this has effect on their immediate family and friends.
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of all those who have lost their lives.
Helicopters certainly don't get the best press.
It is not so long ago we lost Steve Hislop in a helicopter crash in Scotland.
I have been fortuntate enough to meet Colin McRae on several occasions and he has been a friendly, interesting, down to earth, amusing guy. We had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife at the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the last years and they are a really lovely couple. (Think Sam and Scott Russell were having some shall we say "merry" banter with them this year, about what Colin was hiding under his kilt.)
Again, our thoughts are with the family.
